Wing and folding tips

The composite wing combines a greater in-flight span with tips that fold on the ground. The aim is to balance aerodynamic efficiency with taxiway and gate compatibility.

GE9X powerplant

The family uses GE Aerospace’s GE9X. The powerplant and new wing are part of the technology package distinguishing the 777X from earlier members of the 777 family.
